Triage, Treat, or Turf?
In this two-day conference, arm yourself with the knowledge to overcome emergency case jitters, and brush up common ER procedures and presenting complaints. Favorite IntroVet™ past speaker, Dr. Mark Acierno, will join forces with friend and colleague, Dr. Stuart Walton, to share real-world advice for diagnosing and managing azotemic patients, auto-immune diseases, common infectious diseases, urinary obstructions, and more. Practice IV fluid therapy calculations, review step-by-step tips for placing urinary catheters, feeding tubes, and tracking the progress of your critically ill patients.

MEET OUR SPEAKERS
Stuart Walton
BVSc, BScAgr, MANZCVS (SAIM), DACVIM
Dr. Walton is a clinical assistant professor in small animal internal medicine at the University of Florida. He earned his veterinary degree at the University of Queensland in Australia and has completed 2 internal medicine residencies; the first at Veterinary Specialist Services (Australia) and the second at Louisiana State University. His many interests include infectious and inflammatory diseases, immune-mediated disease, respiratory disease, and extracorporeal blood purification techniques.
Dr. Bordelon enjoys all aspects of cardiovascular disease but has a special interest in feline cardiac disease, management of arrhythmias, diagnosis and management of congenital cardiac disease, and management of pulmonary arterial hypertension. In her free time, she enjoys reading, running, yoga, and spending time with her husband and two little boys. She looks forward to being close to family in the Austin area. Dr. Bordelon primarily sees patients inside of Austin Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center in Austin, TX.

Mark Acierno
MBA, DVM, DACVIM
Mark Acierno received his DVM from Mississippi State University. After an internship in small animal medicine and surgery, he completed an internal medicine residency at Tufts University. Dr. Acierno spent 12 years at the Louisiana State University developing one of the most advanced nephrology programs in the world. He is currently a professor at Midwestern University’s veterinary teaching hospital where his clinical and research interests include hypertension, kidney disease and renal replacement therapies. He also serves as the associate dean for academic affairs. Dr. Acierno has an MBA from Pace University in New York City. Prior to veterinary medicine, he had a career in business and finance. He maintains a special interest in personal finance as it relates to veterinary professionals. In his spare time, Dr. Acierno enjoys scuba diving, climbing, hiking and exploring the Arizona desert.
