In this free one-hour video course, veterinary oncologist Dr. Stacy Binstock will guide us through the basic principles of oncology and how to approach cases realistically. Understand how to coordinate and improve care for pets with cancer. See why basic oncology principles matter and which diagnostics are most important. Learn how to formulate and implement a plan with or without referral to a specialist.
Understanding that referrals and ultra-advanced therapies are not always realistic, the goal of this course is to offer solutions to the problems general practitioners face when seeing pets with cancer. Dr. Binstock will help us approach it systematically, and offer realistic treatment plans with each family’s individual goals in mind.

MEET THE SPEAKER
Stacy Binstock, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology)
Dr. Stacy Santoro Binstock is a board-certified medical oncologist with over 15 years of experience in clinical practice. Dr. Binstock attended veterinary school at Iowa State University, graduating in 2002 and completed her residency at Kansas State University and the University of Wisconsin.
She is the owner and founder of Lotus Pet Oncology, a virtual oncology consulting service for pet owners and general practice veterinarians, and sees patients in person at two veterinary specialty hospitals in the Philadelphia metro area.
Dr. Binstock’s special interests include oral tumors, minimally invasive diagnostics, advanced imaging for cancer patients, and customized care for individual patients based on their specific situation. Dr. Binstock welcomes collaboration with primary care veterinarians forming a comprehensive, unified care team for every patient and client.

Lotus Pet Oncology is a virtual oncology consultation service for pet owners and primary care vets. Appointments are held virtually via video conference and function as an in-person consultation. During the appointment, the diagnosis, recommended testing, treatment options, prognosis and owner goals are reviewed.
A detailed consultation report is emailed to the pet owner and primary care veterinarian within 24 hours. Recommendations for local specialty care can be made as needed. Alternatively, a plan for care can be formulated for or in conjunction with the primary care veterinarian with access to Lotus Pet Oncology for guidance.
