COURSE DESCRIPTION

Originally presented in 2022, this two-video series, led by Veterinary Behaviorist, Dr. Amy Pike, will help us understand the cues our patients are giving us through their body language and behavior. Through videos and discussion, we’ll learn to differentiate medical, environmental, and psychological causes of unwanted behaviors.

In video one, we’ll move body-system by body-system to understand how medical disorders can present as behavioral problems. Case examples will be utilized in each lesson, to demonstrate how behaviors resolve when the underlying medical issue is treated.

In video two, through visual examples, we’ll learn how to identify behavioral signs of pain in canine and feline patients. By the end of the course, attendees will understand the importance of the mantra – behavior medicine is always medical first, behavior second.

Upon viewing each video and passing a quiz with a score of 70% or better, you’ll earn 2.5 hours of RACE Approved CE.
