COURSE DESCRIPTION
Originally presented in 2022, this three-video series, led by Veterinary Behaviorist, Dr. Amy Pike, will help us understand the cues our patients are giving us through their body language and behavior. Through videos and discussion, we’ll learn to differentiate medical, environmental, and psychological causes of unwanted behaviors.
In session one, we’ll learn how to read dog and cat body language, focusing on tails, ears, eyes, facial expressions, and body positioning.
In session two, through video examples and understanding of basic training principles, we’ll learn how to train dogs and cats to accept medical care, including bathing, eye drops, ear medications, and oral medications.
In session three, we’ll study the classical signs of separation anxiety, learn how to differentiate separation anxiety from similar disorders, and how to treat.
Upon viewing each video and passing a quiz with a score of 70% or better, you’ll earn 3.5 hours of RACE Approved CE.
