COURSE DESCRIPTION
You won’t want to miss-sss this-sss one!
Originally presented in 2025, this new on-demand series deals with the aftermath of certain serpent encounters. Join ECC enthusiasts Drs. Gerken and Kuo as we slither through current envenomation treatment practices in the United States, covering geographic distribution and access to care. After identifying venomous species, get the expert’s advice on adjunctive and anecdotal therapies (even the weird bacon trick your cousin swore by). We’ll review nuances of antivenom types so you can choose what works for your practice, and then close with a conversation on special considerations for coral snake cases.Â
Register TodayHIGHLIGHTS:
- Get expert treatment protocols and understand how to adapt for any budget
- See the science behind complimentary therapies, such as laser and blood products, and know when consider adding them to your plan
- Understand the systemic effects and affected organ systems in different types of bites for both elapids (coral snakes) and crotalids (rattlesnakes, copperheads, and cotton mouths)
- Compare market-ready antivenoms and new products on the horizon
