No it isn’t a Bon Jovi song, it’s a new video course! Originally recorded in 2025, this on-demand course will walk us through ECG and POCUS execution and interpretation. First, we’ll identify abnormal waveforms, and the little details that point to chamber enlargement. Then follow the experts’ guide to getting clear cardiac and thoracic images. These patient-side diagnostics are crucial to differentiate disease processes and treat quickly; every second counts when your patient can’t breathe. Practice quick recognition of arrhythmias and irregularities with real case studies, and be ready to lung-e into action during cardiac crisis!

Anna McManamey
DVM, DACVIM (Cardio)
Anna McManamey (“Dr. Mac”) became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine as a cardiologist in 2021. She completed her DVM at the University of Missouri in 2016 followed by a rotating internship at the Ohio State University. Dr. Mac then went on to complete an emergency and critical care internship and cardiology residency at North Carolina State University. Her specific interests within cardiology include interventional procedures, pericardial disease, congenital heart disease, and emergency management of cardiac disease. Part of her mission is to make cardiology accessible to all levels of the veterinary profession through teaching, consultation, conference lectures, and engagement.
Kelly Wiggen
DVM, DACVIM (Cardio)
Kelly Wiggen is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Cardiology at the University of Missouri and diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology). She earned her DVM at the University of Illinois in 2015 and subsequently completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA Aurora Animal Hospital, a specialty cardiology internship at VCA Animal Specialty and Emergency Center, and a cardiology residency at the University of Missouri. Her primary interests include congenital cardiac disease and pulmonary hypertension, and she enjoys playing a role in training the next generation of veterinarians.
