Practice Speaking Up for Yourself
We’re sure you probably don’t need to think for more than a few seconds to come up with something at work you wish you’d spoken up about! In this one-hour video presentation, we’ll share tools to help veterinary professionals feel comfortable and confident in any conversation – with your boss, your co-workers, and your clients.
Want a raise? More time off? A change in protocol? This session will help attendees gain the confidence to ask for it! We’ll learn the differences between being assertive and being aggressive, study tips for gaining the confidence to speak up about any subject at work, and practice specific ways to deal with common responses that pop up during conflict - like crying, yelling, shutting down, blaming, and story-telling.
Upon viewing this recording and passing a quiz with a score of 70% or better, you’ll earn 1 hour of RACE Approved CE.

MEET THE SPEAKER
Amanda Inman
CVPM
Amanda Inman has served in the veterinary industry for 14 years, starting as a receptionist and working through leadership positions until she ultimately became a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager. She was awarded PetPlan’s North American Practice Manager of the Year Award in 2018 and was a top 10 finalist in 2017 for VHMA and dvm360’s Manager of the Year awards. She values “paying it forward” and has mentored a receptionist and veterinary technician who also became finalists in national awards. Amanda has been a guest lecturer to students in Purdue’s veterinary nursing program and presents at Purdue’s fall veterinary conferences. She enjoys RVing with her husband and is addicted to playing digital pinball.
