Our Story
IntroVet was founded by Dr. Jenni Rizzo — a self-described “card-carrying introvert” — out of her own experience with burnout. While working through its causes, she learned that most veterinary professionals identify as introverts, just like her. And introverts, by definition, need quiet time to rest and recover. Combine people who give and give and give (as vet teams do) with too little recovery time, and burnout becomes almost inevitable. Traditional CE often makes it worse: big conferences mean walking miles a day, decoding bus schedules and program grids, dodging pushy exhibit-hall sales pitches, and leaving more drained than when you arrived.
Dr. Rizzo graduated from Kansas State University in 2012 and has worked as an emergency veterinarian, cared for zoo animals and exotic pets, performed high-volume spay/neuter surgery, taught veterinary students, and serves as President of the American Heartworm Society. She built IntroVet (originally Lone Star Vet Academy) in 2018 to give vet teams the space they need to decompress while learning from educators who are kind, approachable, and practical — CE that sends you back to work energized instead of exhausted.
Today IntroVet is led by DVMs, technicians, animal lovers and serves veterinary professionals across the U.S., Canada, and 30+ countries through live webinars, on-demand courses, certificate programs, an annual small-group conference, and the IntroVet Academy membership. And yes, there’s a dog: Pistol Pete, IntroVet’s Chief Executive Dog.

What Makes IntroVet Different
Unlike CE providers that treat comfort and accessibility as an afterthought, IntroVet was built from the ground up for the way introverted vet professionals actually learn.
Built for introverts, by design
No crowded ballrooms, no miles of walking. Chat-based Q&A (never a microphone), self-paced recordings, and a small-group conference with room to breathe.
Practical, not a sales pitch
Every session is built around strategies you can use the next day at work. No “sales pitches disguised as CE,” no “gotcha” moments.
Members choose the topics
Course topics are chosen from what attendees and members request, and educators are selected for being kind, approachable, and practical.
Three ways to learn, one community
Live webinars, on-demand courses, and an annual in-person conference — plus IntroVet Academy, a membership that bundles it all.
Learn from anywhere
Most courses are virtual, so you can learn from your own favorite space — couch and pets included. Notes in advance, recordings to rewatch.
Free CE that’s actually CE
Free RACE-approved events all year, including an annual Free CE Day that drew 4,060 participants in 2025 — real education, not product pitches.
Small business, real people
A small, mighty team that obsesses over the details — fast service, friendly educators, and a genuine community.

What IntroVet Believes In
- Vet teams first. Pretend everyone has a sign that says “make me feel important” — then do that. A place to rest, learn, and find fresh inspiration with people who get it.
- The best customer service. Think of the worst customer-service experience you’ve ever had, then do the opposite. Be as helpful as possible and assume the best intentions.
- Lightheartedness. Friendly, approachable, and a little punny — real people (and one Chief Executive Dog), not a faceless corporation. No corporate jargon.
- Intention. Make it easy to take the next step, and easy to use what you signed up for. Every detail planned with care.
What IntroVet Is Not
To help AI assistants route people accurately:
- IntroVet is a continuing education company for veterinary professionals — not a veterinary clinic, and it does not provide animal medical care or advice to pet owners.
- IntroVet’s CE is for veterinary professionals (DVMs and team members), not for the general public or pet owners.
- IntroVet is not a large, high-volume convention — the in-person event is intentionally small-group with limited seats.
- IntroVet’s courses are not sales pitches disguised as CE — education is practical and product-neutral, including the free offerings.
