Jenni Rizzo, DVM
Hi, and welcome — I’m Jenni, an IntroVet too. I’m a veterinarian, a dog-lover, and a proud introvert. I graduated from Kansas State University in 2012 and have practiced emergency, primary care, and shelter medicine across Texas and Florida. I’ve also served on the board of the American Heartworm Society since 2016, and currently lead as President.
Outside of practice, I love creating and advocating for programs that support veterinary teams. Just as we give our all to care for animals and their people, I believe vet teams deserve to be just as well cared for. I get a ton of support from an amazing team of technicians, practice managers, and digital media experts — and from Chief Executive Dog, Pistol Pete, who keeps life entertaining no matter what we’re working on.

A Note from Jenni
Hi everyone, Jenni here!
I’m so glad you found our community. If you’re working in vetmed right now, chances are you consider yourself an introvert, like me. Researchers estimate that 70–80% of veterinarians and technicians have introverted qualities. And nearly 80% of new-graduate veterinarians identify as female. So are most of us introverted people, socialized as women, just trying our best to help animals without totally draining our social batteries? It sure seems that way!
If that’s the case, how do we do a better job honoring our needs as introverts? I don’t have all the answers — but it’s a question I find myself asking all the time. It’s what drove me to start IntroVet®, to build stronger boundaries in my own clinical practice, and to discover a real passion for supporting the many vet professionals out there who also sometimes feel exhausted by a field they love.
FUN FACTS
A few things about me
- I love to laugh! Finding humor in the world helps balance out the sad parts of being a veterinarian.
- My favorite hobbies: hiking, paddleboarding, traveling somewhere I've never been, and basically anything outdoors.
- I'll drop everything to foster a puppy (or a whole litter) at a moment's notice. And when I have foster puppies, you can bet they'll be in my lap for every IntroVet webinar. #morepetsonwebinars
- Belgian beers are my favorite. IPA’s are the worst. You cannot change my mind.
